Aldie Burn
Easy woodland trails follow the Aldie Burn past pine trees and a salmon-shaped pond. Families can try pond dipping, picnic beside the burn or look for dragonflies along the way.
Before you go
The car park is particularly prone to ice, so take extra care. The three-quarter-mile Pond Trail is wide firm gravel with short moderate slopes. The longer Aldie Burn Trail is also easy, with moderate slopes and bridges. Toilets and shops are in Tain. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
