Balkello Community Woodland
A short viewpoint trail and grassy picnic area overlook ponds and a stream near Dundee. The easy Sidlaws View Trail offers a smaller family outing, with longer and rougher routes for those who want to explore more woodland.
Before you go
The quarter-mile Sidlaws View Trail has gentle slopes, some loose stones and a possibly muddy section. Other routes are moderate or strenuous. The car park is locked overnight; check the closing time on its notice board. Public toilets are at Kirkton of Auchterhouse playing fields. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
