Barnluasgan
A short wildlife trail loops around Loch Barnluasgan, with information boards and a hide for watching birds. Families can look for signs of beavers and explore the wetland habitat, without expecting a guaranteed sighting.
Before you go
The one-mile Wildlife Trail is easy and mostly flat, with some short moderate slopes; the hide diversion is slightly uneven. Loch Coille-Bharr Trail is closed by storm-fallen trees. Beaver activity can also cause flooding or fallen trees, so follow closures and avoid hazards. Parking charges apply. Public toilets are at Tayvallich or Crinan. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
