Cardrona
The short Burn Trail follows the Kirk Burn through spruce and larch woodland. Families can use this quarter-mile route for a small forest outing, or choose longer trails to explore the Tweed Valley’s history and views.
Before you go
The Burn Trail is easy, with moderate slopes, loose stones, a grassy section and two narrow bridges. Longer routes add steep sections and gates. Tree felling brings timber lorries onto forest roads on weekdays. Follow safety signs and operators’ instructions. Parking charges apply. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
