Carie
A short woodland trail follows the Carie Burn among Douglas firs, spruce and oak trees. Families can look for red squirrels and other wildlife, or use the picnic area above Loch Rannoch.
Before you go
The half-mile Carie Trail is moderate, with uneven, rocky or grassy sections and some fairly steep slopes. Longer routes add more climbing, roots and forest-road traffic. The nearest postcode covers Rannoch rather than the exact entrance; follow signs for South Loch Rannoch and Carie. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
