Garbh Eilean
A short woodland path leads to a hide overlooking Loch Sunart and two small islands. Families can look for seals, herons and other wildlife from the viewing openings, with a telescope in the hide.
Before you go
Bring binoculars and keep a good distance from seals. Use the short hide path; check current access before continuing towards Ardery, as a wildlife closure is listed on the linking trails. The hide itself is advertised as open. The quarter-mile hide route has a moderate slope and boardwalk. Parking charges apply; toilets are in Strontian. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
