Glenbranter
Woodland walks around the former Glenbranter Estate give families a chance to look for red squirrels and explore varied trees. The shorter Broadleaves Trail is a one-mile circuit through oak, birch and hazel woodland.
Before you go
The Broadleaves Trail is moderate and includes steep slopes. Glen Eck Trail and Glenshellish Loop are closed. The Waterfall Trail cannot be walked as a circuit: follow the yellow waymarkers to the last bridge by the large waterfall, then return the same way. Follow forestry safety signs and stay out of closed areas. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
