Glengarry
The Ciste Dubh Trail follows the River Garry’s cascades through woodland with remnants of ancient pine forest. Families can look for squirrels and birds on a shorter riverside loop.
Before you go
The 1.25-mile Ciste Dubh Trail is moderate, with short steep slopes, roots, rocky patches and potentially muddy ground. Coire Glas exploratory works may restrict access or require diversions. The longer Allt na Cailliche route is strenuous. Parking charges apply; toilets and refreshments are in Invergarry. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
