Kylerhea

A woodland trail leads to a sheltered hide overlooking Kyle Rhea, with information about local marine mammals. Families can look for otters, seals and other wildlife, without a guaranteed sighting.

Before you go

The 1.25-mile Marine Mammal Trail is moderate, with uneven or muddy patches and short steep slopes. Machinery works affect the forest road and car park, but the site remains open with possible temporary diversions. Follow warning signs and operators’ instructions. The hide is open year-round; toilets are seasonal from April to October. The approach road is steep and winding, and the Glenelg ferry is seasonal. Parking charges apply. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
