Why visit

Choose Lochbroom when rain, wind or tired legs rule out another outdoor stop. Swimming and Family Fun give younger children a proper indoor energy outlet on a stretch of the NC500 where bad-weather family options are limited.

Access

Accessible toilets available.

Choose the activity before you travel

Start with the live timetable, not the headline building hours. A family swim, inflatable session or Family Fun slot may only appear at particular times.

This is the difference between a useful weather rescue and arriving to find lane swimming or adult classes rather than the child session you expected.

Swimming with younger children

The baby pool is the clearest toddler feature, while child-friendly swim times and occasional inflatable sessions give primary-age children more to do than ordinary lane swimming.

Check supervision rules and session details in the booking flow, especially if one adult is bringing several children of different ages.

Family Fun soft play

Family Fun uses soft-play equipment in the games hall and is aimed at younger children. It is an activity session rather than a permanent soft-play centre.

Book through High Life Highland and check the session details, as the soft-play setup can vary.

Changing, parking and access

Poolside changing is mixed, with individual cubicles, shared showers and disabled changing options. Ask about baby-changing facilities before travelling if you need them.

There is on-site parking, one accessible space, cycle racks and a nearby bus stop. The centre also has level reception access, accessible toilets and wheelchair access.

How to use it in an NC500 day

Use Lochbroom as a deliberate Ullapool indoor block, not a quick spontaneous stop. It pairs naturally with food or harbour time in town.

Corrieshalloch Gorge and Knockan Crag are the closest outdoor alternatives, but both remain weather-dependent.
