Mabie
Woodland trails, a play area and picnic space make Mabie a varied family forest outing. The short Orchard Trail passes a sensory garden, wildlife sculptures and a poetry trail beneath large trees.
Before you go
The old toilet block has been demolished after storm damage; portable toilets are available. The Woodhead Blue Loop mountain-bike trail is closed for harvesting. Follow signs and staff instructions, and stay out of work areas. There is no vehicle access to the forest from Mabie Farm Park. The half-mile Orchard Trail is wide and firm with short moderate slopes. Parking charges apply. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
