The play park can be the whole visit, or you can add woodland paths and castle ruins for a longer walk without moving the car.

At 270 hectares, Mugdock is too large to wander without a plan when young legs are involved.
A simple family route
Start at the courtyard and play park, then use the free map to choose one landmark or short trail. Return to the courtyard for toilets or food before deciding whether to go farther.
Who will enjoy it
Younger children may be happiest with the play park and a short woodland loop. Primary-age children can add castle ruins or a longer route. For older children, make a castle or trail the goal rather than expecting the play park to carry the visit.
Access and weather
A route that works around the courtyard may not continue across the wider park. If mud, gradients or wheelchair access could decide the visit, ask staff for the best current path before setting off.
