O&E Art Craft Studio

O&E Art Craft Studio runs hands-on art and craft sessions for children and families in central Glasgow. Children might work with clay, make prints or try paper and textile crafts, depending on the programme. Pick a session that suits your child before you go. The basement entrance has stairs, so this will not suit anyone who needs step-free access.

Our family take

Choose this for a child who likes making things and can settle at a table with some adult support. It is a more focused outing than a drop-in play space, and families can book activities to make together. A child who needs room to run, anyone who needs step-free access, or someone with a cat allergy may need a different plan.

    The practical details

    Plan your visit

    Choose a session
Projects, dates, ages and prices vary. Check the chosen children’s or family workshop and book the right number of makers before travelling.See current workshops
    Age and supervision
Children aged 3+ are welcome in suitable activities. Some art classes are listed for ages 4–16. A parent or guardian stays with younger children and helps as needed.
    Getting in
Find the studio at 204 Bath Street, Left Basement. It is reached by stairs, so it is not wheelchair accessible. Buggies can come into the studio.
    Baby changing
There is no dedicated baby-changing table. Ask the studio about other facilities you may need before booking.
    Cats and allergies
Cats live at the studio. Ask in advance if you need a cat-free area; do not assume one will be available for your session.
    Toilets
Ask about toilets before booking if you need to plan a stop during the session.

    A little more detail

Make it work for your family

Choose a project that fits your child

Children can try clay, printmaking, pipe-cleaner crafts, paper cutting, paper-pulp sculpture and other changing projects. The studio also runs parent-and-child activities, including pottery. Check the current listing rather than expecting every activity on every visit.

For a first visit, choose a project that matches your child’s interests and attention span. Tutors demonstrate and help, while children have room to make their own choices. Younger children need a parent or guardian alongside them.

    Time, cost and booking

Most visits take around one to two hours, depending on the project and how long a child wants to work on their piece. If your child tires quickly at a table, choose a smaller project rather than planning a long session.

This is a paid activity, with different prices for different projects. The family-making options currently listed ask you to book for each person taking part. Check the total, age guidance, date and any collection arrangements for pottery before you book.

    Stairs, babies and cats

The Bath Street studio is in the left basement and is reached by stairs. Buggies are welcome inside, but you need to manage the stairs; the studio is not wheelchair accessible. There is no dedicated baby-changing table.

Cats live in the studio. If anyone has an allergy or dislikes cats, ask the team about a cat-free area before booking.
