Is this the right soft play?

Kelvin Hall works best as a planned indoor stop rather than a full soft-play day. The main value is low uncertainty: fixed sessions, published prices, clear access information and useful facilities before you travel. It is strongest for younger children, mixed younger ages and families who want fewer unknowns. If you want a bigger, more open-ended play centre, another soft play will probably suit better.

Best for

Families already planning a Glasgow West End day who want a bookable 105-minute indoor play session, especially when toilets, baby changing, access and session details matter before travelling.

Less ideal for

Families looking for open-ended drop-in play, free parking, a longer soft-play-only day, or a bigger destination play centre.

Age fit

Listed for children aged 0–12, with a separate area for babies and younger children. Strongest for younger children and mixed younger ages; older primary children may need more challenge.

Effort level

Low to medium. The visit is indoors and predictable, but booking, arrival timing and paid parking need a bit of planning.

Sessions

Sessions are fixed, not open-ended. Weekday sessions are listed from 9:30am to 7pm and weekend sessions from 9am to 5:30pm. Each one lasts 105 minutes, so late arrival eats into your play time. Check the live Glasgow Life page before travelling.

Prices

Under 1s: £1. Ages 1–2: £7 peak / £6 off-peak. Ages 3–12: £8 peak / £7 off-peak. Adults: £1. Peak applies at weekends and school holidays.

Booking

Booking is through the Glasgow Club app, the booking website or by phone. Glasgow Life recommends pre-booking for weekends and school holidays.

Café

The café covers breakfast, lunch, children’s meals, cakes, coffee and cold drinks. Café hours are separate from soft play hours, so check both if food is part of your plan.

Toilets and baby changing

Play n' Climb has its own toilets with additional baby-changing facilities. Kelvin Hall also has an accessible toilet and a Changing Places toilet.

Access

Wheelchair and pram access to public areas is via lifts. Free wheelchairs, sensory bags and a quiet room are also available.

ASN sessions

Wednesday sessions are for people with Additional Support Needs, with reduced capacity and sound levels plus additional sensory toys. Check current availability before travelling.

Parking

Parking is paid at Bunhouse Road car park. Machines are noted as coins only and do not give change, with RingGo also available.

ASN and quieter sessions

Wednesday sessions are for people with Additional Support Needs, with reduced capacity, reduced sound levels and additional sensory toys.

Kelvin Hall also has sensory bags, a dedicated quiet room, wheelchair and pram access using lifts, and free wheelchairs available from reception. Check current availability before travelling, especially if this support is central to the visit.

Nearby family stops

Kelvin Hall pairs best with nearby West End or Glasgow museum plans, not far-away soft play centres. Treat nearby stops as separate visits, not part of the soft play ticket.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a useful nearby indoor add-on if you want a calmer family stop after the timed soft play session.

Riverside Museum is good if your child likes vehicles, transport displays and big indoor spaces.
