Tentsmuir
Forest paths, sand dunes and a broad beach make a varied family day at Tentsmuir. There is a play area and picnic space near the main car park, with woodland wildlife and coastal birds to look for.
Before you go
No fires are allowed in the forest or on the beach. Barbecues are restricted to the designated picnic-area plates, must be raised off the ground and are prohibited during dry spells or high fire risk. Do not leave them unattended; take used barbecues home. Extinguish cigarettes fully and dispose of them safely. Call 999 if you see a wildfire. Alcohol is prohibited by byelaw. Keep a good distance from seals. The vehicle barrier closes at seasonal times, so check before setting off. Parking charges apply. Watch children closely beside open water. Wear a life jacket if entering the water and avoid alcohol near or in it. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them promptly.
