Opening times
The garden hub is open daily with 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM winter hours and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM main-season hours. The nature reserve is open daily from dawn to dusk.
Threave works well because you can scale the day up or down between the paid garden hub and the free nature reserve instead of committing to one fixed attraction format.
Best for Garden days with a wildlife angle, buggies that need surfaced paths at the main site, and families who like adding a reserve walk rather than only formal gardens

The garden hub closes at 4:00 PM in winter or 5:00 PM in the main season. Threave House keeps shorter volunteer-led hours and may not open every advertised day.
It gives families a genuine garden-and-wildlife mix: easy garden paths and cafe at the main site, then hides and osprey-focused walking if you want more of an outdoor day.
