Address

Craigtoun Country Park, near St Andrews, Fife KY16 8NX.

Parking and access

Parking is free, with disabled spaces and overflow parking available. The main route from the car park to the cafe, ticket office and main toilets is tarmacked with no significant inclines.

Visit length

Half a day is realistic for the free park alone, and longer if the seasonal attractions are open. TripAdvisor lists typical duration as more than 3 hours, but that is third-party guidance rather than an official visit length.

Last entry

No general park last-entry time is stated in the research reviewed. Seasonal attractions follow their own operating dates and daily hours.

Why visit

Craigtoun is one of the more flexible family parks in Fife because the free all-year side already includes plenty to do: the adventure playground, all-inclusive play area, trampolines, trim trails, a 30ft zip wire and the Fairy Glen. That means you can have a worthwhile visit without committing to a full paid day, then add rides and activities if they are running and feel worth it for your group.

Access

Craigtoun is unusually well set up for accessibility compared with many outdoor parks. The operator documents a tarmacked main route with no significant inclines between the car park and the main hub, and also lists wheelchair loan, communication boards, a Changing Places toilet, and a red-band system for visitors who find queuing difficult. There are two toilet blocks on site, and the east-side block includes baby changing and disabled facilities.

Weather fit

This is mainly an outdoor day, so weather has a direct impact on how much you can do. The cafe and the open shelter near the adventure playground give some cover, but some seasonal attractions may close in bad weather for safety reasons.
