Address
The Scores, St Andrews, Fife KY16 9AS
Parking and access
Bruce Embankment car park (KY16 9AB) is about 100 yards away. Fife Council lists it as a 157-space car park with 4 disabled bays and seasonal charging from 1 April to 30 September.
Visit length
1-2 hours is the safest planning guide for most families, but that is based on third-party duration guidance rather than an official visit-length estimate.
Last entry
Last entry is 4:00 PM.
It gives families a manageable indoor aquarium visit in the middle of St Andrews, with fixed feeding and talk times plus an all-day pass that lets you dip in and out rather than doing everything in one go. That makes it easier to use as part of a wider day in town, especially in poor weather.
Access
Access still needs planning in this Victorian building. The aquarium's official visitor page says the site is not fully wheelchair friendly and describes the toilets as accessed by stairs, but the aquarium team has confirmed there is an accessibility ramp down to the gift-shop area. Contact the team before visiting if step-free access to a particular part of the aquarium is essential.
Weather fit
This is a strong rainy-day option because it is mainly indoors and open year round, but it is better as a shorter indoor stop than a major full-day attraction.
Current animal note
The former seal area is being turned into a new otter exhibit, which the aquarium team says is due to open for summer 2026. Check the latest visitor information before travelling if seeing the otters is central to your plans, as an exact opening date has not been published.
