Opening times
From April to September the abbey is open daily 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Sunday opening from 1:00 PM. The October to March pattern is 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, closed Sunday and Monday.
Dunfermline Abbey and Palace is easiest to use as a short, low-cost town-centre heritage stop because the abbey is free and the open part of the site is compact. The key planning caveat is that the palace is currently closed, so the visit is really about the abbey church and nave.
Best for Shorter heritage stops, Bruce-themed or royal-history interest, and families building a wider Dunfermline town day
