M&D's Scotland's Theme Park
M&D’s has outdoor rides, soft play, bowling and Amazonia all on one site in Motherwell. Entry is free, so you can come for a few rides or make a longer day of it. Before buying a wristband, check which rides your children are tall enough for and which extras you want to include.

Our family take
This suits families who enjoy rides and want some choice over how much they spend. With mixed-age siblings, check that each child has enough rides they can use before committing to the bigger package. You can leave after a few favourites or add food and another activity if everyone still has the energy.
- Separate costs. A standard outdoor wristband does not cover every attraction. Indoor activities, games and specialist rides may cost extra; some ticket bundles include selected extras.
- Ride and access limits. Height and weight rules apply. If transfers, wheelchair access or buggy arrangements will decide the day, check your chosen attractions with M&D’s before paying.

Plan your visit
- Opening
- Outdoor rides are seasonal. Check the opening calendar for your date and the hours of any indoor activity you want to add.
- Ticket choice
- No gate fee. Pay for a few activities with Fun Points, or compare the outdoor wristband and bundles for your date. Games and specialist rides are excluded from the standard wristband.
- Booking
- Wristbands are valid for the chosen day. Wristband and season-pass purchases are non-exchangeable and non-refundable, so check the date and inclusions carefully.
- Toddler package
- For one adult aged 18+ and one child under 1.1m. It covers selected rides; check the current package for its soft-play, carousel and golf inclusions.
- Allow
- Allow around 3–5 hours for rides, or most of a day if you add a meal and another attraction.
- Food and facilities
- Food outlets and a picnic area are available. There are toilets and accessible toilets, with baby changing in the arcade and food court areas. Lockers and first aid are also available.
- Address and parking
- Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell ML1 3RT. Parking is free at the front and rear, with Blue Badge spaces.

Make it work for your family
Fun Points or a wristband?
Start with the current ride list and your children’s heights. Fun Points suit a shorter or selective visit; a wristband may suit children who can and will repeat enough included outdoor rides.
One paid Fun Point is worth £1, and unused points do not expire. Paid points can also be used at participating indoor attractions and food outlets. Free bonus points are more restricted: they are for eligible outdoor rides, so keep that distinction in mind when comparing offers.
If you want Amazonia or adventure golf as well as rides, compare a bundle with buying each separately. A standard ride wristband does not give you access to everything on site.
Rides, heights and younger children
Younger children have rides such as the Pirate Train and Fantasy Land Carousel, while Big Apple is a small caterpillar coaster. Older children who enjoy faster rides can look at the current family and thrill-ride lists, including Twister and Disk’O.
Height matters more than age here. Children below 0.9m can use the Pirate Train with a paying adult; Big Apple also allows an accompanying adult for children below its stated height threshold. Check each ride’s full rules, including weight limits, before promising it.
The under-1.1m adult-and-toddler package covers a defined selection. Children just above that height may need a different ticket even if you would still think of them as toddlers. Allow for an adult riding alongside younger children when comparing the cost.
Rainy-day options
For a wet day, choose an indoor activity you would be happy to visit on its own: Krazy Congo for soft play, Cosmic Bowl for bowling or Amazonia for animals. Game Zone adds arcade games, which can mean more spending.
Indoor opening hours differ from the outdoor rides. A wristband bought for a rides day does not automatically become an indoor ticket if it rains, so check your backup before booking.
Prams, accessibility and carers
Ramps and a stairlift serve parts of the complex, but access to the site does not mean every ride will suit every child or wheelchair user. Ask about transfers and the exact rides you want to use; the information desk is at the main entrance. Check buggy arrangements with the venue if you need somewhere to leave one while riding.
A free carer wristband is available with qualifying identification when accompanying a paying person who needs support. Check the evidence required before travelling and collect it at the ticket office. Dedicated ASN sessions are offered for hosted events; check the event listing rather than assuming a standard visit is a quiet session.
When another visit is a better choice
If your child is unsure about rides, start small with Fun Points before paying for a full rides day. For a visit centred on animals or outdoor play, one of these alternatives may suit you better.
